On January 20, 2026, the REAL Project teams at Souphanouvong University organized a conference to disseminate the outcomes of the 3rd REAL Meeting (held at the University of Champasak from December 8–10, 2025) and to outline the strategic work plan for the first quarter of 2026.
A key highlight was the presentation of the objectives and Strategic Milestones
- Validation of Graduate Profiles: Present the final results of Graduate Profiles designed to align with the socio-economic needs of Lao PDR and initiate preparations for a national consultation to enhance value-added outcomes in higher education.
- Curriculum Assessment & Capacity Building: Evaluate Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and specific curriculum standards, while conducting the inaugural awareness-raising workshop on student workload assessment.
- Pedagogical Integration (Line 3): Synthesize findings from topics 1 and 2 regarding student engagement strategies. This objective focuses on integrating Active Learning principles into curriculum design and instructional delivery to improve student participation and learning outcomes.
In alignment with these findings, the committee reported on the comprehensive review and enhancement of Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs). These revisions ensure that the curricula remain responsive to the demands of the labor market and society while strictly adhering to the Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) model and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) standards.
