Souphanouvong University welcomed a group of leaders from Maha Chulalongkorn Rajavidyalaya University, which is a monk university, Thailand, on 24th February 2023. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss cooperation in the areas of languages and culture. During the meeting the two parties discussed about cooperation in staff exchange and research in languages and culture. Since the processes of requesting for an approval for signing a Memorandum of Understanding take some time, the two parties agreed to draft and sign an agreement and request for an approval for the Memorandum of Understanding simultaneously.

On 21st February 2023, Souphanouvong University welcomed representatives from Agency Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in Lao PDR and the Luang Prabang Teacher Training College. At the moment Souphanouvong University has established a working committee to work with the Luang Prabang Teacher Training College in applying a grant from AUF and the French Embassy to Lao PDR as the university itself is not yet a member of AUF.
